I've been on a massive emotional roller-coaster ride for this fair.
Consider our very first day of set-up. We had two extra people helping us. We met for breakfast then took off for the Mt. Sunapee Resort to start setting up my booth.
When we got out of my car, I noticed a huge dent in my bumper. Someone had rear-ended me in the parking lot during breakfast and driven off.
Then we realized the impact had jammed my hatchback door. We couldn't open it to unload the car.
We managed to get everything out but two 8-foot tables. I called my local Subaru dealer. They were less than helpful, simply telling me to take it to a body shop. I knew it was probably just jammed, but had no idea who else to take the car to. I was over an hour from home, and had already lost precious set-up time.
One of the fair organizers suggested I call a local body shop for help. She knew people who worked there. So I called Lauridsen Auto Body in New London, NH.
Pete told me to drive over and he'd take a look. Within minutes, he'd popped the door. He told me this often happens on 3-4 year old Subarus, and showed me how to handle it if it ever happened again.
Pete will be receiving lovely pearl earrings for his daughters this week at the Fair. He protested at first, saying he hadn't really done anything.
But I knew he was short one person that week, and that he himself was leaving on vacation in three days. He was totally up to his neck in body work. He had no time to help me.
But he did.
Thank you, Pete!
