I'm always telling artists that a blog is a great--and easy--way to keep your customers informed about events. And now I just realize I should be taking my own advice.
I'm teaching a full day of workshops at the Fiber Art Center in Amherst MA on Saturday, November 5, 2005. The workshops are
"Publicity and Self-promotion for Artists: Simple Tools to Get Your Name Out There"
and
"Beyond Retail: Selling Through Stores & Galleries".
You can find out more about these classes at the FAC's website here:
http://www.fiberartcenter.com/classes.html
The added advantage is I sell my work at the gift shop located in the FAC's gallery, and sometimes Linda Ruel Flynn, the gift shop manager, drops in to offer her two cents' worth to the discussion.
Also, I'll be presenting versions of these same workshops in Cumberland, MD on Saturday and Sunday, October 22 and 23, 2005, under the auspices of the Arts Business Institute. You can find out more about ABI's curriculum and workshops here:
http://www.artsbusinessinstitute.org/abi2005cumberland.php
I'm on board with this one late, so I'm not actually listed. I'll be co-presenting with Judie B. Raiford of Raiford Gallery, and presenting the promotion workshop.
If you are within striking distance of these events, come on down!
There. A working blog at last...
