I drove over to my photographer's studio in Brattleboro, Vermont this a.m. to pick up jury slides and new digital images for a catalog. Also because he said my artist friend Joanne Russo would be there and I could see some of her new work. She was, I did, and it's fabulous stuff. For a peek at some of her newer pieces, look here:

As Jeff set up for her shots and I was packing up my stuff, I mentioned that I STILL haven't really sat down and started working on new fiber work. At which point Jeff and Joanne looked at each other and burst out laughing.
"No shit!" said Jeff. "Oh, yeah, you're telling everyone else to just do the work in your blog, and YOU AREN'T DOING IT!" added Joanne.
I blushed. "I guess my dirty secret is out," I mumbled.
"Let me give you a clue," said Jeff. "It's NO SECRET!!!"
I've always said humiliation is the ultimate inspiration. I'm getting my show application off today, and laying out the fabric for a new piece today.
Thank you, Jeff. Thank you, Joanne. Dammit.
