Well, it WAS a good series, wasn't it?
And now I'll venture on a few tips of my own:
Thin people are patient with themselves.
It's funny how patient we can be with other people.
We know people aren't born knowing how to play a piano, knowing how to ride a bike, knowing how to do a jillion things. We know these skills take commitment, practice, time. We know it helps if we find a way to make it enjoyable, too. Or at least recognize that we must keep at it if we hope to master a new skill.
We know it's hard to lose weight, to exercise dilegently, to get fit. We know it takes a lot of little steps that add up. And that sometimes, there will be setbacks.
We know people may fall off the wagon--but the only thing to do is get up and get back on again.
It's gonna be hard. To be successful at ANYTHING, we have to get through the hard parts.
And we're gonna fall down from time to time.
Then why are we so hard on ourselves?
Falling down only means we're temporarily not moving forward. It doesn't mean we have to stay glued to the pavement.
Just for today, be patient with yourself.
Give yourself a second chance.
(To paraphrase--whining is fun, but it doesn't really accomplish anything.)
