Moshe runs Linux S/390 (with a twist)

A few months ago I wrote a story on using Linux on IBM mainframes. It's an odd notion, but I think it actually makes great sense in several ways. Moshe Bar, over at BYTE.com, thinks so too. And in his inimitable way, he had to experience it for himself. Not having a spare million dollars burning a hole in his pocket, he had to improvise. No problem! He just set up a System/370 emulator on his Linux box and, having turned it into a mainframe, then proceeded to turn it back into Linux using Debian's Linux S/390.
