As you can see, this weblog has a shiny new look. I'm going to burn in this InfoWorld template on the homepage for a few days, then recrank the archive through it. If you run into any glitches in the meantime, please let me know.
When I do punch that Publish Entire Website button, I'm planning to include Sjoerd Visscher's navigation macros which add Next and Prev links to the daily archive pages. I learned about Sjoerd's macros when reading Day 9 of Mark Pilgrim's excellent accessibility guide, which shows how to supply navigational links to the Mozilla site navigation bar. I've always been a big proponent of this kind of thing.
After trying the site nav widget in Mozilla, though, I found it too intrusive if left always on, and disconcerting if set to pop up only as needed. So I run without it. To my taste, in-page navigation aids like Sjoerd's are both more universal and more convenient. But, of course, it's not just about me. I'm sure there are some people who would like to use the site nav bar. So I'll include that mechanism too. It's just a few lines of script in each case.
