I had some good habits that I let slide by the wayside recently. Or is it slip by the wayside...? Anyway, I thought I didn't need to do them anymore.
Guess what? I do.
Some things I've learned I need to do every day.
1) Floss.
2) Write in my journal.
3) Write in my blog.
4) Put my hands on an art project.
5) Tell people how much they mean to me.
6) Check the calendar and my to-do list.
7) Exercise.
Re: 2, 3, 6...I get in trouble when I think I can hold everything in my head. I can't. I think I have a particularly buzzy brain. If I try to stick too much stuff in there, I can't hear myself think anymore. My good friend Nicci Glick once told me, "It's like doing long division in your head." Which ALSO makes my brain buzz.
So I'm trying to get back on track with getting all those things to do written down so I don't have to remember them. And trying to get all those buzzy thoughts in a journal every day, so I can look at them and see if they are valid and need action (make more wall hangings! Send out that press release!) or just "buzz" and can be safely set aside (Why doesn't that person like me?? Do these pants make my...never mind.) And I need to blog every day, and not feel like I have to prepare a sermon every single time.
The rest are fairly self-evident. Except for #5. I mean, that's self-evident, of course. But how often do we really, truly realize how numbered our days really are, and say the right things to the people who mean the most to us?
Alisha, thank you. Tiffany, Barbara and Carole--thank you! Jon, I'm sorry I'm always right, because life isn't really about that, and I love you and really do appreciate everything you do. Robin--SING! Larry, you will find true love again. Tim and Theresa--WOW!!
I could go on, but that's enough love for today.
