Just a quick note. Today was the first day of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen's Open Studio Tour.
I've been in a tear all week getting ready, doing the customary flogging of spouse and children to get all the junk picked up around the house, driveway and garage. Why, oh why do boys use a tool and then throw it on the ground outside? Why do they drink pop and then throw the can on the garage floor? Why did my son clean the hamster cage by emptying it on the pachasandra outside my studio? Why do we have two feral pigeons flying around the mudroom???
On the other hand, my son is wondering why I forced him to vacuum my studio this morning even though he had a fever. (No excuse, in my book!)
Oh well, in my studio, all is calm and all is bright.
My studio is sparkling clean. Well. That would be an exaggeration, of course. But it is beauteous, and tomorrow I'm having my husband take some photos to prove it to you.
If you are in the area, I invite you to come and see for yourself! You can find directions and such by going to my website www.luannudell.com and clicking on "events". If you would like to download a brochure with a map, you can go to the League of NH Craftsmen's website at http://www.nhcrafts.org/OpenStudio.htm or pick up a brochure at any of the League's seven retail stores, OR from any NH Welcome Center.
Today I met a woman who didn't think it was at all strange that I had ten vintage globes in my studio. She likes them, too. Of course, if she'd gone into the house and seen the REST of my collection..... Oh, dear.
