We're just hours back from our vacation to Michigan, where we visited friends and family, saw Lake Michigan (awesome!) and ate tons of pancakes and fancy omelets for breakfast every single day.
We found out the pregnant cat we've been foster-caring for the local humane society is not only NOT PREGNANT--she's been spayed! We'd fed her so much rich food and kept her confined so she wouldn't have kittens in an inopportune place, which resulted in her getting so big, it was hard to to believe she could have fooled us for so long. But when no kittens appeared after 8 weeks, she went back for a check-up and the truth came out. The humane society is a bit red in the face, but quickly gave us a new momma cat with four kittens to foster. So we adopted Chai (the chubby cat) and still have some kittens to play with.
There's a pile of messages, e-mail and orders to catch up to, and new supply catalogs to browse. And a very messy home and studio to clean up before any real work can get done. Most of my booth display is still in my studio, since we left a day after my retail show. OY VEY!!
I managed to visit a handful of beautiful galleries and fine craft stores on our trip, and am excited about getting back to work.
Well...after I rest up a bit from our vacation, of course!
