I got this tip from Amy Peters, the Queen of PR in my world.
She posted recently about Bill Stoller's website, http://www.publicityinsider.com/
and I checked it out today.
In a word--awesome!
At first I had doubts. It looks like all those other ohmigod thisisthemotherlode websites.
But as I started reading his stuff, I noticed 1) He's covered everything I've found to be true in my own PR efforts; 2) He covers stuff I've never run across before and 3) He's fun to read! Breezy, funny, to-the-point and easy to get.
I rarely recommend something like this unless I honestly, truly feel it's solid stuff. Then I'm happy to help out that person/business by getting the word out. And happy to point other people to them.
I highly recommend checking out his website for ideas on how to get some buzz going about your art.
What I REALLY liked was, he stresses that there's got to be something there to buzz about. I see a lot of people trying to create success for themselves out of not-very-much-real-work.
Do the work. Then go for the buzz!
I sprang for the newsletter, I was so impressed with what I was reading. (Sprung for the newsletter?? My dictionary says either, but I dunno...neither sounds right.)
If you like what you see at the site, do me a favor--mention my name. But remind him that I found him through Amy Peters.
Not affiliated--just a happy new customer.
