I subscribe to a fun little e-mail newsletter called, simply, "Five". It's sort of an art/craft thing from artist Carole Pivarnik of
Tulip Hill Studio. I will quote the Carole's description from her website, because I couldn't say it better:
A FREE biweekly newsletter that contains five good things:
ONE honest, unvarnished review of an unsung paper arts product, tool, or material from a real artist/crafter based on hands-on experience (with a link to samples made using the reviewed product, if relevant).
ONE spiff-and-polish tip for presenting your handmade creations in their best light. Suggestions about finishing details, clever packaging, display environment, or other factors that affect how your work is perceived.
ONE thought intended to uplift, motivate, or inform. Enthuse your Muse!
ONE pointer to a light-hearted Web site that will appeal to your sense of play!
ONE "outside the box" resource to give you a slightly to wildly different perspective on creativity.
FIVE is compact, quick, informative, fun.

How to SUBSCRIBE:
Send an email with the subject "GIMME FIVE!" from your email address to five@tuliphillstudio.com. You will be added immediately.
I enjoy it and always find at least one thing that appeals.
Today it was this link:
http://foundmagazine.com/
It's a website that showcases "found" notes, photos and other ephemera that people find, scan and upload to the site. It's fun, silly, scary, haunting and poignant. A tiny peek into someone else's life.... I was immediately drawn in. I can already see the potential inspiration for a story, a poem, a song, a work of art.
Try it and see what you think.
Remember....just for fun!
