Sometimes life looks like three boxes of puzzle pieces (the ones with 1,500 pieces) dumped in a pile on the floor, and you've lost the covers and don't know what the darn things are supposed to look like anyway.
And other times, you pick up a piece that's been sitting around the whole time, and you suddenly just SEE where it snaps into place.
Last night, I was looking at a pile of small unfinished wall hangings I'd done last year. They are very cool, but different from what I've been doing. More formal than the "wild", ancient-looking ones I've been doing with the horses. House- or shrine-shaped, but not in a prehistoric way. Much more colorful, too--turquoise, olive green, rust, gold and purple. They just didn't go with the horses.
Then I looked over at a bird artifact I'd made last year. I've been making them "in the round" as dangles on bracelets and necklaces. Hmmmm....maybe I could make bird PINS, too.
I made one and it looked GREAT. Hmmmm....maybe I could add little birds to my tie tac line. I made some tiny birds. They look good, too.
I was admiring the bird pins and happened to look over and see those little "house" quilts.
Bird.....House.
And suddenly, it clicked into place, just like that little puzzle piece. Bird artifacts would look really cool on those little wall hangings....
I stayed up late whipping out birds and little fish for a new series: Bird House Series and Fish House Series.
I don't know why I suddenly figure everything out when I only have a couple of weeks left before my "rilly big shew"..... But I'll take inspiration where I can find it.
